Billie Wood, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Kerry Wood officiating, and Pastor Chad King and Norman Rushing assisting. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Billie was born on June 15, 1933 in Dougherty, Texas to J.H. and Maggie (Wills) Martin. She was a Teacher’s Aide for 20 years. She was an excellent seamstress and was remembered by all for her beautiful singing voice. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Leroy and Wayne Martin; two sisters Opal Waites and Gwen Hill; one granddaughter Andrea Wood; and one niece Sandy Martin. Survivors include: husband W.H. Wood, Jr. of Childress; three sons, Kevin Wood and wife, Cara of Conroe, TX, Kerry Wood and wife, Beverly of Childress, and Kent Wood and wife, Pam of Childress; granddaughter Deane Crim and husband, Rody of Ft. Worth; grandson Kyle Wood and wife, Chelby of Ropesville, TX; granddaughter Katherine Iannuccilli and husband, Jared of Smithtown, NY; grandson Kurt Wood of Decatur, TX; grandson Kregg Wood and wife, Jordon of Duncan, OK; great-grandchildren Kamryn, Grayson and Keegan; sister-in-law Patsy Martin of Wellington; nieces and nephews Lana Kay Hubbard and husband, Dwight of DeSoto, Karen Lewis of Amarillo, Donna Butler of Canyon, Teddy Martin and wife, Kim of Willis, TX, Keith Martin and wife, Charlotte of Wellington, Roddy Waites and wife, Linda of Murchison, TX, Randy Martin of Lubbock, and Kelly Wood and wife, Sandy of Memphis.
