Obituary for Beverly McCarty

Beverly Sue McCarty, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.     Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Parkview Baptist Church with Pastor Don McFarland officiating, Associate Pastor Chase Finch and Dr. Mike Henderson assisting.  Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home.   Beverly was born on August 13, 1949 in Childress, Texas to Robert Ray and Patsy Sue (Hardin) Sims.  She married Franklin McCarty on June 27, 1975 in Amarillo, and they spent 43 loving years together until his death in 2018. A hard worker, she worked in the medical field as an x-ray tech for 20 years until her health caused her to have to retire.  She loved to do needlepoint and counted cross-stitch. From a young age, she loved horses.  She loved riding horses and living life to the fullest, embracing every moment she could.  A Christian woman, she was a longtime member of Parkview Baptist Church, essentially a lifetime, and she loved her church and church family. Above all else, she loved her family.  She loved to watch her kids and grandkids, and cheered them on in all their endeavors with pride and love. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include- Sons John Arbuckle, Todd Arbuckle, Cory McCarty and wife, Dee, and Monte Lee McCarty; Daughter Christie Ragsdale and husband, Billy Paul; 2 brothers, Kenneth Sims and wife, Pam, and Robert Sims and wife, Barbara; Grandchildren Kristen Squires, Tyler Arbuckle and wife Kimi, Colby Arbuckle, Kaitlyn Arbuckle, Austin McCarty, Taylor McCarty, Jocelyn Bourland, Aniya Lewis, Courtney Ragsdale, Crystal Smith and husband Jared, Laura Chavis and husband Ryan, and Lindsey Ragsdale; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.   Memorial contributions may be made to CRMC or CRMC Hospice, PO Box 1030, Childress, TX 79201, or to the charity of your choice.
