Obituary for Betty Crook

Services for Betty Crook will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:00AM at The Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Ball and Rev. Ronnie Shoffner officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 6-8PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Betty Louise Bryan Crook was born on May 12, 1934 in Porum, Oklahoma to John Ralph and Leeta Virginia Bryan. She and Don Ray were married on June 26, 1952, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Don Ray and Betty owned and operated Crook's Fish and Garden for 32 years. In 2003, she was voted Business Woman of the Year. The next year, she and Don Ray were the Old Settler's King and Queen in 2004. She also worked in the nursery and as a Sunday school teacher at Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She was an avid gardener. Betty was the most wonderful and precious wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Because she was such a caring person, she always put others needs above her own. Betty will be remembered for her cooking. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Ralph Lee Bryan. Survivors Include: Husband - Don Ray Crook Son - Bryan Crook and wife Janice 2 Daughters - Terri Cobb and husband Dave, Mendi Taylor and husband Eddie Special live-in Niece- Sharon Kelley and husband Ray 3 Grand Children - Jana Crook, Chris Taylor and wife LeeAnna, Ali Taylor; Great Grand Child - Declan Taylor Sister-in-law - Dorothy Bryan Sister-in-law - Maxine Gale Sister-in-law - Mildred Allen Sister-in-law - Jo Thomas Sister-in-law - Lois Smith and husband Dean Sister-in-law - Shirley Barnes and husband Frank Numerous Nieces and Nephews
