Obituary for Barney D Gilley
Memorial services for Barney D. Gilley, 79, will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church with Don McFarland officiating. He passed away November 27, 2021 in Wichita Falls.
He was born November 23, 1942 to J.G. Gilley and Floreta Miller Gilley. Barney served in the Army from 1961-1966 and married Barbara Merrell on October 30, 1975. He was a public servant for both Hall and Childress Counties and worked for the Childress Fire Department. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and loved yard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Whitten.
Survivors include his wife Barbara; a sister, Pat Phillips; several brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his best fury friend, Ace.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Parkview Baptist Chuch of Childress, Tx or the Rathgerber Hospitality House at 1615 12th Street Wichita Falls, Tx 76301.
