Obituary for Ardice Morgan

Graveside services for Ardice Watson Morgan, 96, will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Joe E. Jones Chapel at Childress Cemetery with Dr. Mike Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held after the service at the Childress Senior Citizens Center, 403 S. Main.
Ardice passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Vernon.
She was born as a twin April 6, 1924 to John Henry and Everlena Watson in Red River County. Her twin died at four days of age. On April 24, 1943 she married Curtis C. Morgan in Clarksville, Texas. In 1944 they moved to Childress to make their life together.
Ardice started her own business in Curtis Morgan Auto Sales and Salvage in 1960 selling 45 records, LPs and 4-track tapes as Stereo City. She loved sewing and was an avid gardener. It made her happy working in her garden but nothing made her happier than spending time with her granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2004 and her 12 siblings: Ralph, Orman, Manuel, Delbert, Etta, Minnie, Lillie, Vollie, Effie, Harman, Ola and Herschel.
Survivors include her son Dr. Calvin Morgan, Jr. and his wife Cheryl Gary of Vernon; granddaughter Alexis and husband, Daniel Allen of Cashmere, Washington; sister-in-law Dawn Morgan of Childress and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
