Annie Belle Goodwin, age 97, died Monday, July 15, 2013 in The Woodlands. Services will be 10:00AM Friday, July 19, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Childress with Mr. Robert Hicks officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Annie was born February 10, 1916 in Telephone, Texas to Jesse and Lou Ella Stephenson. She was a long time member of the Kirkland Church of Christ and later, Fairview Church of Christ of Childress. Annie never met a stranger, and was devoted to family, to cooking, and to hospitality. Her door was always open to all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Ray Goodwin, April 22, 2013; daughter, Wanda Woods. Survivors: 2 Daughters - Virginia DeShazo , Santa Rosa, CA, Jettie Huff and husband, Bobby, The Woodlands, TX 2 Sons - Robert Hicks and wife, Stephanie, Childress, Perry Hicks and wife, Shirley, Hereford, AZ Sister - Lucille Spain, Durham, CA 18 Grandchildren; Extended family members include, Corrine Whitley, Waco, James Goodwin, Craig, CO, Troy Goodwin and wife, Nancy, New Braunfels, Don Goodwin, Wichita Falls, Brenda Cozad and husband, Craig of Mesquite and son-in-law, Charles DeShazo.
