Angelita Cantu Ramos, age 65, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Childress. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 30, 2014 in First United Methodist Church of Childress with Adam Anguiano officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Angelita was born on July 29, 1948 in Edcouch, Texas to Jesus Cantu and Lucia (Reyes) Medina. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and sew. An outdoor person, she had a green thumb and was very proud of her garden. Angelita loved to travel, and especially looked forward to her trips to the casino. When she was in good health, she was very active, even volunteering to cook for local funerals, weddings, and other events. She loved music, and was a devoted watcher of Spanish soap operas. Her greatest joy was being able to spend time with her grandkids, and enjoyed it even more when they brought her coffee and sweet bread. She was a loving and giving woman who would give whatever she had to help someone in need. Angelita was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David Garza; and a grandson, Michael Rodriguez.
