Obituary for Altagracia Garcia
Altagracia "Alta" Garcia, age 91, of Childress, TX passed away on February 12, 2020. She was born on November 29, 1928, to Manuel and Julia Flores. A rosary will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Services for Alta will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Childress, TX with Father Nick Gerber officiating. Burial will follow in the Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Alta was a loving mother and grandmother. Being a homemaker gave her the opportunity to be able to babysit her grandchildren as they were growing up. She also loved to play bingo. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Alta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erineo Garcia; and a son, Richard Garcia.
She is survived by seven children; son; Ruben and Isabel Garcia and their children, Ruben Jr and Tonya Garcia and four great-grandchildren, Andrew and Chelsea Garcia and 3 great-grandchildren, Julia Obryant and 2 great-grandchildren and Linda and Blake Mullens; son; Roy Garcia Sr. and his children, Aretha (Garcia) and Damien Adams and 4 great-grandchildren from McKinney, TX, Eric Garcia from Bradenton, FL, Tonya Garcia from Tampa, FL, Roy Garcia from Tampa, FL. and Rogelio Garcia from Austin, TX; daughter; Racheal and Chris Rodriguez and their children Rudy Rodriguez and 4 great-grandchildren, Lydia and Reyes Martinez and 4 great-grandchildren, Sylvia Rodriguez and 2 great-grandchildren, daughter; Margie Garcia and her children Lisa and Ruben Sifuentez and 3 great-grandchildren, Bibi and Trey Fuller and 3 great-grandchildren, Lionel and Ashley Benavidez and 5 great-grandchildren, Rene and 1 great-grandchild, son; Roberto Garcia and his children, Bee-Ann and Abel Silva and 3 great-grandchildren, Mark Garcia and 3 great-grandchildren, Clarrissa Garcia and 6 great-grandchildren, son; Roel Garcia and his child Roland and Terry Garcia and 4 great-grandchildren, son; Alejos Vasquez and Rosa (deceased) and 4 great-grandchildren, thirty-four great-great-grandchildren as well as many other extended family members.
