Alma Arbret (Caswell) Yager, age 104, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2 PM at First Baptist Church with Pastor Chad King officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Alma was born on August 6, 1911 in Sunset, Texas to James L. and Mary Arbret (Allen) Caswell. She married the love of her life, Edgar W. Yager, on May 27, 1928 in Sunset. She was the last of her brothers and sisters, outliving them by several years, as well as most of her friends. She was a member of the Burlington Club and of First Baptist Church in Childress, and was a beautician for many years in Childress. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, her siblings, her parents, one son William Edgar (Bill) Yager, grandchild Stephen Yager, and great-grandchild James Kelly. Alma is survived by one daughter: Arbret Sue Yager of Lubbock; five grandchildren: Cathy Yager of Colorado, Moshe Yager of Albuquerque, NM, Charissa Kelly and husband, Jim of Clifton, TX, Michelle Thomas and husband, Jim of Collings Lakes, NJ, and John Todd IV and wife, Michelle of Lubbock; ten great-grandchildren: Joshua Lewis and wife, Heather of Amarillo, Crystal Yager and Christie Yager both of North Carolina; Shoshana Vialpando and husband, Ray of Albuquerque, NM, Christina Goodman and husband, Thomas of Arlington, TX, JustinJames Thomas of Collings Lakes, NJ, Abi Thomas and Tori Thomas both of Collings Lakes, NJ, and Emily Todd and Kaitlyn Todd both of Lubbock; and five great-great-grandchildren.
