Obituary for Albert Thomas Kinsey

Funeral services for Albert T. Kinsey, 92, will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in Verden Cemetery in Verden, Oklahoma under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held December 8, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home
He passed away December 6, 2022 in Childress.
Albert was born August 31, 1930 in Cooperton, Oklahoma to James Luther Kinsey and Eva Dee Emmons Kinsey. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-54 and then worked for Shell Oil Company for 35 years. During his last 10 years, he was promoted to Division Operator. He served in the Rocky Mountain area. His work took him to all of the Rocky Mountain states.
He married Colline Kinsey while working in Dumas, Texas. They lived and traveled to most of the Rocky Mountain area. They were married for 62 years.Together they traveled to Canada and spent some time in Houston and traveled to that area of Texas. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Oklahoma.
After retirement, they moved to Childress where he raised cattle. He was active in Childress, serving on the Board of Directors for Childress Meals on Wheels and worked on the committee and installed many of the lighted displays for Christmas in the Park. He was also active in the Childress Methodist Church.
His philosophy was “work, work, work” and “anything worth doing should be done well.” He was busy all of the time.
His family included sisters-in-law Mable Kinsey of Moore, Oklahoma, Pat Kinsey of Oklahoma City and Martha Burrus and husband, Jack, of Childress and many nieces and nephews.
