Don Lavelle Lacy, age 78, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Childress. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 30, 2012 in First Baptist Church with Rev. Chad King and Rev. Kerry Wood officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

Don was born April 25, 1934 in Wellington, Texas to Drury and Mellie Porter Lacy. He attended schools in Wellington and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1956. He married Shelba Hamilton in 1957. They had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

In Wellington, he was a teacher and basketball coach for many years. Currently he owned and operated Fantastic Footwear.

Don was an avid sports fan who proudly supported A & M Aggies and the Dallas Cowboys. He so enjoyed his grandchildren, great grandchilden, and his two dogs.
